The game will not require a 3D accelerator, it will support both the Rendition and the
3Dfx. The Regular Nascar 2 is only supported by the Rendition.
The new Game will feature a new physical model, similar to Grand Prix Legends (the game) The car will feel like it is actually rolling and the suspension will be modeled. And the accidents will be more realistic.
They say they don't know if the game will support any of the force feed back joysticks.
It will have IPX support, TCP/IP, DirectConnect, two-player modem hook-ups, all that
stuff, It will also be hooked up to the NASCAR racing
series.
When it comes to modeling the actual cars, Papyrus intends to go into more depth than has been previously attempted.
They say they will be able to model the shocks and springs separately.
In the real world, the shock and the springs have different values and they react in
different manners, and the pit crews are
able to adjust to each one of those to have a different effect on the car.
They will also try to make it so you can adjust the track bar and sway bar for a more realistic affect.
Another new feature is a more realistic in-the-car view.
They will have a 3D cockpit instead of the regular static 2D picture. You will be able to see the drivers hands and the gear shift.
When you are driving the Car your head will sway back and forth in conjuction with the way you are turning.
The new game is scheduled to come out Christmas of 1998.
