Restricter plates
Taladega is the only track in the game which uses the restricter
plates. Restricter plates make your car go a bit slower by restricing the amount
of air and fuel gets pumped into your carburetor.
To turn the restricter plates off, you must go into the
drive you have Nascar 2 installed in, go to Sierra, Nascar2, Tracks,
and go to the Taladega folder. Find the text file named Taladega.
On the 6th line (named spdwy) the first number is a 1. Change
that number to a 0 and you will now be able to go faster.
Pit Speed Limit
To change the pit speed limit go to any track txt. file and
on the 5th line of the txt. file named "pitsp" is a number,
that number is the speed limit for the pit. Delete that number
and set each pit speed around 250 and you can speed all you want
without getting black flagged. Your pit crew will still say something
like "keep it on 5000" but you will never get caught.
How to use the PCX. files
First go into Nascar2 and select driver info.
Pick a car you want to replace with the one you downloaded
(lets say you want to use your car, t_playe.pcx)
Export the car by clicking on "export". Exit Nascar2.
The PCX. you just exported is now in your Nascar2 directory, usually
c:\sierra\nascar2\, the file is now called Xt_playe.pcx, put that
file somewhere other than your nascar2 folder. I would suggest making
a new folder called "Backup" that way you can keep track of them.
Now rename the pcx. you downloaded to Xt_player (in this example).
Go back into Nascar2 and into driver info and hit import and your done.
Do you ever play Nascar 2 and you get in a really nasty crash
and you think it is so cool that you want to send it to our page for us to
post it under crash of the month?
Here is how you take a screen shot-
first your in Nascar 2 and you get in a crash or something, while you
are playing hit the back slash key and it will take a "Screen Shot"
Exit Nascar 2 and in your, lets say, C:/sierra/nascar2/ folder is a PCX. file that
has saved at the bottom of the page.
Just take that PCX. and send it with the E-mail to us and we will try to post it.
(on another note: you can take as many "screen shots" as you want)
If you downloaded any of the Winston Cup cars from our page you
know that they come in .car format. All you have to do is take the car file we
gave you and stick it in your Car folder which is located in C:/sierra/nascar2/cars/.
And your done!
